Es muy común que a la hora de producir adaptaciones de otras historias y realizarlas en otros formatos audiovisuales existan muchas diferencias y similitudes. La estructura narrativa, el lenguaje visual y sonoro deben adaptarse al cambio y eso puede provocar que las historias adaptadas prácticamente se vuelvan otras historias. En estos casos, si la historia cambia, es común que el protagonista y sus elementos narrativos y evolutivos también reciba cambios argumentales para que la trama pueda funcionar. Para esta investigación, se analizará la presentación de personaje y como este va evolucionando en la narrativa mostrada en Death note versión anime y en la versión Live Action producida por Netflix.
