Considerando lo mencionado previamente, el propósito de esta investigación es identificar si existe influencia directa de la formalidad laboral de los padres en la decisión de los individuos peruanos por tener un empleo informal. Para ello se considera el 2019 como año de estudio y se toma de apoyo dos bases de datos de corte transversal (ENAHO 2009 y 2019), las cuales permitieron construir un panel sintético para contar con información de los padres diez años atrás. A partir de los modelos Logit y Probit, se observa que los factores que influyen en la probabilidad de tener un empleo informal en 2019 son la edad, el nivel de ingresos de los padres, el nivel educativo, el estrato geográfico y, principalmente, la participación de los padres en el mercado laboral informal. Sobre esto último se comprobó que la trayectoria de los padres establecida entre los años 2009 y 2019 en el mercado laboral informal es directa y considerablemente influyente en la decisión de los agentes por ser empleados informales en 2019.

Over time, the factors that explain the progress of this problem have been studied, however, intergenerational transmission has not been addressed in depth. Considering the above, the objective of this research is to identify whether there is a direct influence of the labor formality of the parents in the decision of Peruvian individuals to have an informal job. For this, 2019 is considered as the year of study and two cross-sectional databases are supported (ENAHO 2009 and 2019), which allowed the construction of a synthetic panel to have information from parents ten years ago. From the Logit and Probit models, it is observed that the factors that influence the probability of having an informal job in 2019 are age, parent’s income level, educational level, geographical stratum and, mainly, the participation of parents in the informal labor market.
