Resultados:Respecto a la inteligencia emocional del profesional de enfermería hubo predominio del nivel bajo con 54% (n=27), luego se obtuvo nivel medio con 40% (n=20) y finalmente,nivel alto 6% (n=3). Respecto a lasdimensiones, en percepción emocional hubo predominio del nivel bajo 76% (n=38), en comprensión emocional predominó el nivel bajo 44% (n=22) yen la dimensión regulación de la emocionessobresalió el nivel medio 54% (n=27). Conclusiones:En cuanto a la inteligencia emocional en el profesional de enfermería hubo predominio del nivel bajo, luego el nivel medio y por último, nivel alto.

Materials and methods: The study was carried out taking into consideration the quantitative perspective with a cross-sectional descriptive design. The survey was used for data collection and the evaluation tool was the TMMS-24 scale made up of 24 items distributed in three dimensions. Results: Regarding the emotional intelligence of the nursing professional, the low level predominated with 54% (n=27), followed by the medium level with 40% (n=20) and finally, the high level with 6% (n=3). As to the dimensions, there was a predominance of the low level in emotional perception with 76% (n=38), the low level also predominated in emotional understanding with 44% (n=22) and the medium level stood out in the emotion regulation dimension 54% (n=27).
