Objetivo: Determinar si existe mayor riesgo de presencia de efectos adversos en pacientes adultos mayores en tratamiento oncológico con depresión en comparación a los que no presentan depresión en el CEMENA entre 2013 y 2015. Métodos: Se evaluaron a los pacientes con diagnóstico de cáncer, reclutados durante el periodo de septiembre 2012 a febrero 2013 y seguidos hasta diciembre del 2015.se analizó la depresión, como factor de riesgo en la presentación de efectos adversos al tratamiento oncológico Resultados: De un total de 922 en tratamiento oncológico el 24.62% (277) presentaron algún tipo de reacción adversa al tratamiento. Se encontró una media de 2.89% del puntaje de Yesavage encontrándose un incremento de la puntación de Yesavage en relación al número de reacciones adversas. Conclusiones: La presencia de efectos adversos se asoció a aún mayor puntaje del cuestionario de Yesavage independientemente de la variable analizada lo que sugeriría una relación se asociación entre depresión y mayores reacciones adversas
