description En el presente proyecto de investigación: Inteligencia Emocional en la Municipalidad Provincial de Yungay, 2018; tuvo como propósito determinar las competencias de la inteligencia emocional de los trabajadores. La metodología que se utilizó, es tipo descriptiva, el estilo fue no experimental de corte transversal y se aplicó como instrumento de investigación un cuestionario. La población estuvo conformada por 23 colaboradores en la Gerencia de Administración y Finanzas de la Municipalidad Provincial de Yungay, no siendo necesario extraer muestra. Los resultados obtenidos fueron: en un 66% de los trabajadores reconocen el modo en que sus emociones afectan a sus acciones y el 61% del personal tienen la habilidad de identificar sus sentimientos que hay detrás de su estado de ánimo.
