description Objetivo: Determinar si la nutrición enteral temprana tiene mayor efectividad que la nutrición enteral tardía en pacientes expuestos a cirugía gastrointestinal en el Hospital Regional Lambayeque durante el periodo Diciembre 2017- Noviembre 2018. Materiales y métodos: estudio de tipo prospectivo, observacional, transversal, analítico y responde a un diseño de cohortes prospectivas en los pacientes sometidos a cirugía gastrointestinal que se atienden en el servicio de cirugía del Hospital Regional Lambayeque durante el periodo Diciembre 2017 – Noviembre 2018. Los resultados del presente estudio permitirán establecer si existe relación significativa o no entre el inicio de la alimentación enteral precoz y la tardía en pacientes postoperados de cirugías gastrointestinales, además de establecer los beneficios y las posibles complicaciones que ello conllevaría aclarando así las discrepancias que existen entre cirujanos, lo que permitirá establecer protocolos de manejo a nivel local y nacional.
