description El presente estudio tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre la lactancia materna y las infecciones respiratorias en niños de 2 años en el Hospital Regional Docente Materno Infantil El Carmen 2023. La investigación es de tipo básico, con enfoque cuantitativo, nivel correlacional y diseño no experimental, transversal correlacional. Se emplea el método de observación científica, utilizando como técnica la observación y como instrumento una ficha de observación aplicada a 111 historias clínicas seleccionadas mediante muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple de una población de 270 registros. La validez del instrumento se determina mediante juicio de expertos y la confiabilidad a través del coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach. Los datos se procesan con los programas SPSS y Microsoft Excel, aplicando estadística descriptiva e inferencial para establecer la relación entre las variables. El estudio se desarrolla en el Hospital Regional Docente Materno Infantil El Carmen, Huancayo, durante los meses de octubre a diciembre de 2023. Se plantea como hipótesis que existe una relación significativa entre la lactancia materna y las infecciones respiratorias en niños menores de dos años.
