Se aplicaron dos cuestionarios, el primero compuesto por 15 preguntas cerradas para evaluar conocimiento y 10 preguntas tipo Likert para evaluar actitudes y el segundo compuesto por 10 preguntas de tipo Likert; ambos previamente validados obteniendo la V de Aiken 0.99 para el primero y 1 para el segundo; en cuanto a la confiabilidad valor obtenido del coeficiente de KR-20 fue 0.81 para las preguntas de conocimiento y el valor de alpha de Cronbach fue 0.83 para actitudes del primero y 0.94 para el segundo. Para el análisis de los resultados se utilizó la prueba de Chi-cuadrado, con un nivel de significancia de p<0.05. Resultados: Se encontró que el 68.4% de los estudiantes poseían un nivel de conocimiento regular, un 15.8% poseían un nivel de conocimiento bueno y malo respectivamente. Un 83.5% obtuvo una actitud favorable y 16.5% una actitud desfavorable. Los alumnos de 10° ciclo obtuvieron el mayor porcentaje con un nivel de conocimiento bueno y con actitud favorable alcanzando un 36.1% y 94.4% respectivamente. Conclusiones: El nivel de conocimiento sobre maltrato infantil fue predominantemente regular alcanzando el 68.4% de los encuestados; 15.8% posee un nivel de conocimiento bueno y un nivel de conocimiento malo respectivamente. En cuanto a las actitudes, un 83.5% presentó actitudes favorables, mientras que un 16.5% manifestó actitudes desfavorables

Materials and methods: Descriptive-cross-sectional study. 139 dentistry students from 7th to 10th cycle at the Antenor Orrego Private University were evaluated.
