Resultados se encontró que las características de las puérperas fueron: en parto vaginal y parto quirúrgico de 20 a 25 años 74% y 79% según edad respectivamente, multípara (51%) en parto vaginal y primíparas (45%) en parto quirúrgico, hemoglobina pre parto normal en ambos tipos de partos (92% y 98% respectivamente, las complicaciones como sangrado post parto fue de mayor de 500cc en alumbramiento dirigido y de 200 a 500cc en alumbramiento manual, la hipotonía se presentó en el 58% en el alumbramiento dirigido y sin hipotonía el 96% en el alumbramiento manual, en pacientes atendidas en el Hospital Distrital Santa Isabel 2018 Concluyendo que existe mayor eficacia en el alumbramiento dirigido que en el alumbramiento manual, con una alta significancia estadística p< 0.001
