Realizando un estudio univariado y multivariado, utilizando la prueba de prueba Chi cuadrado (x2) y y el Test exacto de Fisher, se analizaron las variables obstrucción mortalidad en pacientes postoperados por obstruccion intestinal mecanica, con un IC del 95%. Además, se estableció el grado de significancia para la presencia de mortalidad en pacientes operados por obstruccion intestinal mecanica: tiempo de cirugia,tiempo de inicio de sintomas,edad, sexo y tipo de cirugia Resultado: El tiempo de cirugía mayor de 2 horas (OR=4.4, p< 0.013, IC 95%: 1.36- 14.4) y el tiempo de inicio de síntomas mayor a 48 horas (OR=3.8, p<0.03, IC 95%: 1.12-13.33), son factores asociados a mortalidad en pacientes con obstrucción intestinal mecánica Conclusión: El tiempo de cirugía mayor a 2 horas y el tiempo de inicio de síntomas mayor a 48 horas son factores asociados a mortalidad en pacientes con obstrucción intestinal mecánica.

Material and methods: retrospective case-control population based on clinical histories and operative reports of patients with mechanical intestinal obstruction admitted to the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo from January 2014 to December 2019. Performing a univariate and multivariate study, using the Chisquare test (x2) and Fisher's exact test, the variables obstruction mortality in postoperative patients with mechanical intestinal obstruction were analyzed, with a 95% CI. In addition, the degree of significance was established for the presence of mortality in patients operated for mechanical intestinal obstruction: time of surgery, time of onset of symptoms, age, sex and the type of surgery Results: surgery time more than two hours (OR=4.4, p<0.013, 95% CI: 1.36-14.4) and symptom onset time more than 48 hours (OR=3.8, p<0.03, 95% CI: 1.12-13.33), are associated with mortality in patients with mechanical intestinal obstruction.
