Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional de tipo caso-control de pacientes adultos entre 18 a 70 años de edad atendidos en consultorio externo de medicina interna del hospital Florencia de Mora de EsSalud entre el año 2017-2022. Se registró el diagnóstico de hipertensión arterial, para más tarde distinguir a los pacientes cuyo registro informa el antecedente de hiperuricemia. Resultados: El estudio incluyó un total de 182 pacientes que fueron atendidos por consulta externa en el servicio de medicina interna, fueron 25.3% con hipertensión arterial esencial e hiperuricemia y el 74.7% con hipertensión arterial esencial no presentaron hiperuricemia, mientras que el 13.2% presentaron hiperuricemia, pero no hipertensión arterial esencial y 86.8% tuvieron no tuvieron hipertensión arterial esencial ni hiperuricemia. Al comparar nuestros resultados se obtuvo un OR 2.227 (IC 95% 1.031-4.807), con una asociación significativa de (p 0.039). Conclusiones: La hiperuricemia está asociada a HTA, y es un factor de riesgo en pacientes adultos de 18 a 70 años atendidos en consultorio externo de medicina interna del hospital Florencia de Mora EsSalud durante el 2017 a 2022 |

Materials and methods: An observational case-control study was carried out on adult patients between 18 and 70 years of age treated in the external internal medicine clinic of the Florencia de Mora de EsSalud hospital between 2017-2022. The diagnosis of essential arterial hypertension was recorded, to later distinguish patients whose record reported a history of hyperuricemia. Results: The study included a total of 182 patients who were seen by outpatient consultation in the internal medicine service, 25.3% had essential arterial hypertension and hyperuricemia and 74.7% with essential arterial hypertension did not present hyperuricemia, while 13.2% presented hyperuricemia but no essential arterial hypertension and 86.8% had neither essential arterial hypertension nor hyperuricemia. When comparing our results, an OR 2.227 (95% CI 1.031-4.807) was obtained, with a significant association of (p 0.039).
