Métodos: Se realizó un estudio transversal en pacientes con accidente cerebrovascular isquémico agudo. Se calcularon los SII y SIRI a partir de hemogramas. Se evaluó el resultado funcional con la Escala de Rankin Modificada y se analizaron variables clínicas. El procesamiento estadístico incluyó pruebas y modelos. Resultados: Se evidenció que valores elevados de SII y SIRI se relacionaron con mayor probabilidad de discapacidad, según la Escala de Rankin. Aproximadamente la mitad de los participantes presentaron algún grado de limitación funcional, observándose una asociación estadísticamente significativa entre la inflamación sistémica y la gravedad del accidente cerebrovascular. Además, comorbilidades como hipertensión, diabetes y obesidad incrementaron el riesgo de desenlaces desfavorables. El tiempo transcurrido desde el inicio de los síntomas hasta la atención influyó en la recuperación. Estos hallazgos resaltan la importancia de identificar marcadores inflamatorios tempranos y controlar factores de riesgo para optimizar el tratamiento y mejorar el pronóstico. Conclusión: En conclusión, el control de la inflamación sistémica y las comorbilidades constituye un factor clave para mejorar la recuperación funcional.

The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and the systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) may be associated with functional prognosis in these patients. Objective: To determine the association between these indices and functional outcomes following an acute ischemic stroke. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on patients with acute ischemic stroke. SII and SIRI were calculated from complete blood counts. Functional outcomes were assessed using the Modified Rankin Scale, and clinical variables were analyzed. Statistical processing included tests and models. Results: Higher SII and SIRI values were associated with an increased likelihood of disability, as measured by the Modified Rankin Scale. Approximately half of the participants exhibited some degree of functional limitation, with a statistically significant association observed between systemic inflammation and stroke severity. Additionally, comorbidities such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity increased the risk of unfavorable outcomes. The time elapsed from symptom onset to medical attention influenced recovery. These findings highlight the importance of identifying early inflammatory markers and managing risk factors to optimize treatment and improve prognosis.
