El objetivo general es evaluar la efectividad del índice tobillo-brazo al predecir otras patologías como la enfermedad cerebrovascular en adultos mayores del Hospital Belén de la ciudad de Trujillo, así como poder determinar su sensibilidad, especificidad, así mismo el valor predictivo positivo y también el valor predictivo negativo, aplicando un ajuste bayesiano. En cuanto a la metodología, la variable independiente es el valor medible cuantitativamente del índice tobillo-brazo, mientras que la variable dependiente es el diagnóstico de enfermedad cerebrovascular. El ajuste bayesiano se utilizará para determinar si la hipótesis planteada es confirmada; la curva ROC permitirá determinar el punto de corte ideal que maximice los valores de la sensibilidad y la especificidad; y el índice de Youden servirá para evaluar el desempeño de la prueba diagnóstica utilizada en la investigación.
