El análisis estadístico fue realizado en el paquete estadístico SPSS versión 26, utilizando la prueba chi cuadrado. Resultados: La edad promedio fue de 45;13 años, el IMC promedio fue de 41;86 kg/m2 siendo principalmente mujeres (57.1%). La remisión de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 fue identificada a los 6 meses en el 87.5% de los pacientes intervenidos mediante bypass gástrico y en el 73.7% de los pacientes intervenidos mediante manga gástrica (p=0.001); mientras que al año fue identificado en el 93.8% en aquellos intervenidos mediante bypass gástrico y en el 89.5% en aquellos intervenidos mediante manga gástrica (p=0.034). Conclusión: La técnica de Bypass gástrica logró una mayor remisión de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 en comparación a la técnica de Manga gástrica en adultos postoperados en la red asistencial EsSalud La Libertad entre los años 2021 – 2024.

Material and methods: Retrospective cohort study. The sample consisted of 16 patients with Gastric Bypass and 19 patients with Sleeve Gastrectomy. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 26, using the chi-square test. Results: The mean age was 45.13, the mean BMI was 41.86, and the majority of the patients were women (57.1%). Remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus was identified at 6 months in 87.5% of patients who underwent gastric bypass and 73.7% of those who underwent gastric sleeve (p=0.001); while at 1 year, it was identified in 93.8% of those who underwent gastric bypass and 89.5% of those who underwent gastric sleeve (p=0.034).
