El diseño de investigación es correlacional de tipo sustantiva, se contó con la participación de 124 estudiantes del sexo femenino que cursaron del tercero al quinto nivel de formación secundaria. Se utilizó la Escala de Funcionalidad Familiar (FACES-III) de Olson et al. (1985) y el Cuestionario Breve de Conductas Alimentarias de Riesgo (CBCAR) de Unikel et al. (2004). En tal sentido, los resultados evidenciaron la existencia de una correlación altamente significativa (p<.01) e inversa entre la dimensión flexibilidad de funcionalidad familiar y los factores atracón - purga, medidas compensatorias y restricción de conductas alimentarias de riesgo. Del mismo modo existe correlación altamente significativa (p<.01) e inversa entre la dimensión cohesión de funcionalidad familiar y los factores atracón – purga, medidas compensatorias y restricción de conductas alimentarias de riesgo. Se concluye la existencia de una correlación altamente significativa e inversa (p<.01) entre la funcionalidad familiar y las conductas alimentarias de riesgo (CAR).

The research design is correlational of a substantive type, with the participation of 124 female students who attended from the third to fifth level of secondary education. The Family Functionality Scale (FACES-III) by Olson et al. (1985) and the Brief Risk Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CBCAR) by Unikel et al. (2004) were used for the study. Thus, the results evidenced the existence of a highly significant and inverse correlation (p<.01) between the flexibility dimension of family functionality and the binge – purge factors, compensatory measures, and restriction of risky eating behaviors. In the same way, there is a highly significant and inverse correlation (p<.01) between the cohesion dimension of family functionality and the binge – purge factors, compensatory measures, and restriction of risky eating behaviors.
