| Sumario: | _ The research topic was developed in the Yantalo Health Center with the objective to know the reality in which is located in the solid waste management from hospitals (Segregation, primary storage, interna) transport, final storage, treatment, externa) collection and disposal). To make the diagnosis of solid waste management in all its stages, and even more for the treatment of waste bio contaminated and specials that occur. It is carried out the hospital waste characterization to identify the type and quantity of the waste produced; and the duration was for a week, formats were used for data collection instruments andas a digital camera, which gave us shots oftimes and places ofthe room where the stage work in the field; it is concluded that there is an average of 1.80kg/day and al so 12.80 kg/week of hospital waste, between its three categories are bio contaminated waste, special and common. To determine the biological risks that can have the medica) staff, cleanliness and recyclers, we u sed the method A TSDR (Agency for toxic substances and disease registry) but it will be changed in the biological point of view; this method helps us to determine the biological risks through a risk assessment; for the realization of this objective, is working with a population of 27 persons between medica! staff, cleaning personnel and recycler in the municipal dump; the development of this research was carried out through a participatory methodology, making direct link with the staff that it is exposed, was developed and implemented a questionnaire, with the purpose of knowing the degree of knowledge of the personnel exposed. It is a descriptive design with a non-experimental field. The result was that the technical staff, cleanliness and recyclers has highest biological risk of being infected with the HIV virus, tuberculosis, and hepatitis, since they are in constant contact with the punzocortante material and the care and administrative personal has a minimum biological risk of becoming infected with these diseases. During the diagnosis, the fine storage is the most critica! area, the inappropriate, the waste are stored in two plastic buckets and exposed to air; it is concluded that the CC.SS does not have an infrastructure and a suitable environment for the final storage and treatment ofhospital waste. Key words: sol id waste management; participatory methodology |
