In this context, the plastic arts coexisted, especially the art of painting which, given the new concepts applied by the so-called impressionist painters, produced a major impact on music. Therefore, a certain parallelism between these two arts is proposed. This research will analyze some musical aspects of the Prelude by connecting them with the esthetical, technical and conceptual features of impressionist painting. La importancia de la obra Preludio a la siesta de un fauno, en el contexto artístico de su época, radica en las innovaciones que realizó Claude Debussy, en las que se puede apreciar el espíritu de libertad del compositor. En ese contexto, convivieron las artes plásticas, en especial la pintura que —dados los nuevos conceptos que aplicaron los pintores llamados impresionistas— generó un gran impacto en la música. De este modo, se plantea un cierto paralelismo entre ambas artes.
