Sumario:Knowledge about Peruvian composers from the second half of the 20th century is scarce. This text aims to fulfill this gap by providing an insight into Alejandro Núñez Allauca’s musical style. Núñez Allauca is a composer born in Moquegua that emigrated from Peru 35 years ago and lives permanently in Europe. The analysis of his production shows a solid technical management, a variety of musical genres and strong links to Andean world and Catholic religion. It is not possible to state that Núñez Allauca is a neoindigenist composer, as he is sometimes referred to, but rather a postmodern composer.
