The study was conducted ecological and cultural value of the wetland of Huanchaco,_x000D_ October 2014 to March 2015. Determined the number of puddles of the wetland, touring_x000D_ throughout its range, selecting 30 ofthem and ofwhich was obtained its dimensions, there_x000D_ was also physical and chemical parameters, in addition to collecting water samples to_x000D_ analyze phytoplankton and zooplankton, as well as botanical samples, which were_x000D_ identified with key taxonomies specialized and with the help ofthe Herbarium Truxillense,_x000D_ respectively; in addition observation was rnade of fish, insects and birds, which were_x000D_ determined with the aid of specialists and the Museum of Zoology of the National_x000D_ University ofTrujillo and collected historical information to rescue the value ofthe wetland_x000D_ ecosystem There were 205 pools, getting a area and average height of 115, 88 m2 and 1.46 m Average temperature of 24.2 oc (environment) and 23.4 oc (water), oxygen of 7.5_x000D_ mg/L, pH 6, salinity of 7 per thousand, and water level in average of 38.36 m3. We_x000D_ identified 42 species of phytoplankton, 12 of zooplankton, 20 plants, 3 fish, 1 reptile, 17_x000D_ families ofmacroinvertebrates and 13 species ofbirds.
