Sumario:Title: Epidemiological, clinical and surgical management results of the elderly adult patient with diagnosis of abdominal trauma in the Hospital Belén de Trujillo Objective: To characterize the epidemiology, clinical and surgical management results of the elderly adult patient diagnosed with abdominal trauma at Hospital Belén de Trujillo during January 2000-December 201O Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive observational study was carried out in the Elderly patients diagnosed with abdominal trauma who underwent surgery. Results: A total of 30 cases were studied, of which 86.7% were patients Of the male sex. The most frequent age group is 60-64 years (60%) with an average age of 65.4 years. The places of greatest origin were. Trujillo, the hope, future and Florence of Mora. The most frequent chronic disease was hypertension (23.4%). In 2002, the highest number of cases occurred in 5 cases. Closed trauma represented 60% while penetrating trauma 40%. The most common causal agent was the traffic accident (43%), followed by a firearm (23%), and the most frequent abdominal organ was liver and bile duct (36.6%). %) And cranioencephalic (19.6%). The most frequent complication was Ja infection. Surgical wound (36.8). In the postoperative period, 19 patients (63.3%) were complicated, and 4 patients died (21.1%), due to the trauma itself and preexisting disease .. Conclusion: The age group most affected by abdominal trauma was 60-64 years old with 60%. The most frequent abdominal trauma was the closed with 60%. The direct cause of abdominal trauma was a traffic accident with 43%. The most frequent postoperative complication was surgical wound infection with 36.8%.
