Descripción
Sumario:Previous research indicates an increase of Peudomonas aeruginosa producing broad spectrum beta-lactamases in hospitals; therefore, the present study aimed to isolate, determine the distribution and its frequency in the environments of the neonatal unit of the ESSALUD Hospital Victor Lazarte Echegaray of Trujillo during the period from April to December 2015. Thirty-nine samples of Surfaces, equipment and instruments, which were inoculated and incubated in tubes containing thioglycollate broth, then streaked on Mac Conckey agar plates and Cetrimide agar. Characteristic colonies were identified and subjected to Gram staining, evaluation of ferrocyanic pigment production and growth at 42 ° C in peptone broth. The production of extended spectrum betalactamases was effected by double disc diffusion. The results showed that of the 39 samples evaluated, four isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were obtained, which were distributed in all the environments of the neonatology unit. We did not find frequency of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, producer of extended spectrum betalactamasas from the cultures analyzed, but considering the results found, it is necessary to carry out new studies that allow to develop tables of evolution of bacterial resistance as the resistance patterns have been changing very quickly.
