Were divided into two groups , Group 1 (27 patients) Tamsulosin 0.4mg daily and Group 2 (27patients ) Tamsulosin 0.4mg + Celecoxib 100 mg. Control symptoms was conducted per month. Results: In the group treated only with Tamsulosin ,nocturia improved in 20 patients (74.07 %). The Tamsulosin + Celecoxib treated group also showed improvement , improving nocturia in 27 patients (100 %). Statistically significant difference in improvement of symptoms in patients treated with tamsulosin or tamsulosin + Celecoxib (P <0.05) Conclusion : Use of Tamsulosin + Celecoxib is effective in the management of nocturia secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia

Material y métodos:Estudio prospectivo, comparativo, longitudinal y observacional. La población bajo estudio estuvo conformada por 54 pacientes con un IPSS ≥ 8 secundario a hiperplasia prostática benigna que vienen recibiendo Tamsulosina atendidos en consultorios externos del Hospital Belén de Trujillo entre el 1 de diciembre del 2012 y el 31 de mayo del 2013. Se dividieron en dos grupos, Grupo 1 (27 pacientes) Tamsulosina 0.4mg al día y Grupo 2 (27 pacientes) Tamsulosina 0.4mg + Celecoxib 100 mg. Se realizó control de sintomatología al mes. Resultados: En el grupo tratado solamente con Tamsulosina, la nocturia mejoró en 20 pacientes (74.07 %).
