Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease, that has adquired Pandemic proportions, It is also an important risk factor in Cardiovascular mortaliity. (1, 5) Hypoglycemia is the most commen endocrine emergency, being the most frequent complication in those receiving insulin therapy, hypoglycemia and antihyperglycemia drugs. (7). Many times sustained hypoglycemia led to a state of irreversible neurological injury in diabetes patients treated for hyperglycemia. (10) Was the Accord study who in a 10 - year study presents hypoglycemia as an important association to consider in Cardiovascular mortality. (11, 15) Due to the impact that type 2 diabetes Mellitus has today, it is necesary to know the degree of association that exists betwen severe hypoglycemia and the organ involvement that it would cause with subsequent consequence in the survival of patients.
