This thesis was carried out with the purpose to analyze the influence of the social adaptation of the lower in the process of the foster care of the Residential Care Center "San José", (INABIF Trujillo: 2015. It has been considered the type of applied research on the basis of an explanatory design, and the sample consisted of 56 children sheltered in the CAR "San Jose" INABIF - Trujillo, with which work by applying the methods and techniques of qualitative and quantitative research. The results obtained, we can deduce that the children come from families receiving physical and psychological abuse, whose causes are mostly attributed to parents with aggressive behavior, disappearance or absence from home, had left home to form another family, economic problems, alcohol consumption, parenting styles in an authoritarian fashion and various customs where they predominate the violent acts. In addition we can contrast that boys have interpersonal skills, good self-esteem, good habits of personal care and high sense of respect that contribute in the process of foster care promoted by this Residential Care Center.
