Determinar la frecuencia de obesidad e hipertensión arterial como factores de riesgo para desarrollar diabetes mellitus tipo 2 en pacientes que asisten al Centro de Salud de Fonavi IV 2021-2022. Se trata de una investigación de tipo no experimental u observacional, descriptivo y transversal en una población de 115 pacientes que asistieron al Centro de Salud de Fonavi IV 2021 – 2022 de donde se obtuvo una muestra de 89 pacientes que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión. Mediante una ficha de recolección de datos se procedió al llenado en una base de datos para posteriormente elaborar las tablas y gráficos con el estadístico SPSS versión 20.0. El 11,2% de los pacientes tenían edades menores de 50 años, el 42,5% eran de sexo masculino, el 13,5% tenían antecedente familiar de diabetes mellitus tipo 2, el 16,9% presentaron obesidad, el 27,0% tenían hipertensión arterial, el 9,0% tenían obesidad e hipertensión arterial concomitantemente. La frecuencia de obesidad e hipertensión arterial son del 16,9% y 27,0% respectivamente, considerándose factores de riesgo para diabetes mellitus tipo2 en pacientes que asisten al Centro de Salud de Fonavi IV 2021-2022. ----- Determine the frequency of obesity and high blood pressure as risk factors for developing type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients attending the Fonavi IV Health Center 2021–2022. This is a non-experimental or observational, descriptive and crosssectional research in a population of 115 patients who attended the Fonavi IV Health Center 2021 - 2022 from which a sample of 89 patients who met the inclusion criteria was obtained. Using a data collection form, it was filled into a database to later prepare tables and graphs with SPSS version 20.0 statistics. 11.2% of the patients were under 50 years of age, 42.5% were male, 13.5% had a family history of type 2 diabetes mellitus, 16.9% were obese, 27. 0% had high blood pressure, 9.0% had obesity and high blood pressure concomitantly. The frequency of obesity and high blood pressure are 16.9% and 27.0% respectively, considered risk factors for type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients attending the Fonavi IV Health Center 2021-2022.
