According to the Peruvian Institute of Economy (IPE), the departments that belong to the jungle macro region had the lowest economic growth rate, reaching an average of 2.4%, and one of the departments with the lowest growth is the department of Loreto. In addition, corruption is one of the main evils that affect the different economies of the world, this issue has recently received great attention due to various national and international scandals, such as the Odebrecht case, in which the Brazilian company paid bribes to high government officials in several Latin American countries (including Peru) in exchange for winning certain deals. In this sense, the objective of the present work is to determine the relationship between the complaints about corruption of public officials and the economic growth of the Loreto region, during the period 2016 - 20219. For this, an investigation of a quantitative nature was developed, of a non-experimental and correlational design, in which it was found that there is a negative relationship between complaints about corruption of public officials and the economic growth of the department of Loreto, during the period 2016 - 2021.
