Descripción
Sumario:The sewerage service access gap mainly affects the population in low-income areas, generating health, economic, and environmental problems. Closing this gap is one of the most effective instruments to reduce poverty and increase human development. For this reason, this thesis determined the relationship between public spending on sanitation by the three levels of government and the percentage of the population residing in homes without any type of hygienic service, inside or outside the home, in the department of Loreto 2012-2021. The research was of a quantitative type, correlational level and non-experimental design with longitudinal data. It was found that there is no relationship between the totality of public spending accrued in sanitation by all institutions and the percentage of the population that resides in homes without any type of hygienic service in the department of Loreto 2012-2021. But there is evidence to affirm that, when public spending by national government institutions grows, the second variable analyzed tends to decrease over the space and time observed.
