This research explores the relationship between financial credits provided by Municipal Savings Banks (Cajas Municipales) and the growth of the commerce sector in the Peruvian Amazon region (macrorregión selva) from 2007 to 2023. Through a quantitative and correlational analysis, the study examines the impact of financing on key variables, including the commercial sector's share in the regional GDP and employment levels. The findings reveal a positive correlation between credit access and commercial sector development, highlighting the importance of Municipal Savings Banks as financing sources in areas with limited access to traditional banking. Additionally, a moderate relationship is observed between deposits in these banks and their lending capacity, which indirectly contributes to job creation in the region. The study concludes that Municipal Savings Bank credits are crucial to the economic dynamism of the commerce sector, although their overall impact depends on other structural factors. Recommendations and strategies are proposed to optimize the role of Municipal Savings Banks in economic growth, emphasizing the need for integrated financial management to promote sustainability and regional development.
