The present study aimed to determine the relationship between tourism potential and tourism development in the town of Padre Cocha, Punchana district, 2020, being a descriptive research with a non-experimental design, which was composed of 258 residents of the town, the survey and questionnaire were used as a data collection instrument as a technique, concluding that the tourist potential is regular, because there are seldom different access routes to the town, likewise, walking activities are seldom carried out Either by land or river, in addition, the food service (restaurants) is rarely offered in the town. Likewise, the development of tourism is classified as regular, because such participation is seldom encouraged to plan and organize tourism activities, as well as public spaces are almost never implemented for tourism purposes, on the other hand, tourism has seldom generated more of jobs, in addition, the use of tools is almost never promoted to offer tourist products developed in the locality. In general, it is determined that there is a relationship between tourism potential and tourism development in the town of Padre Cocha, Punchana district, 2020, since the rho correlational statistic yielded a significance of 0.000 and a coefficient of 0.847.
