Sumario:Public universities are fundamental to the development of a country by providing accessible education, encouraging research and innovation, and promoting equal opportunities. They train trained professionals and committed citizens, promoting economic, social and cultural progress. The objective of this study is to identify how the relationship between the public spending of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon and the spending of Peruvian public universities for the period 2019-2023 is presented, with a correlational level, non-experimental design with a quantitative approach. identifying that between 2019 and 2023, a significant and positive relationship is observed between the current expenditure of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (UNAP) and that of Peruvian universities, with a correlation coefficient of 0.947 and a bilateral significance of 0.015. There is no statistical relationship between capital expenditure or between UNAP's debt service and that of other Peruvian universities. Current spending is the most significant component of the budget both at UNAP, representing between 87% and 93%, and at Peruvian public universities, with 79% to 80%. UNAP's capital spending increased from 7% in 2019 and 2021 to 13% in 2023, while at public universities it remained at 20%. The debt service was not representative in the period studied, concluding that there is a significant and positive relationship between the public spending of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon and the spending of Peruvian universities period 2019-2023 with a correlation coefficient of Rho Spearman of .900.
