Antecedentes de COVID-19 asociada a complicaciones cardíacas en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital Regional de Loreto Iquitos 2021 al 2023

The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between the history of COVID-19 and cardiac complications in patients treated at the Loreto Regional Hospital between 2021 and 2023. The study had a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional and retrospective design. The sample was made up of the medical records of 143 patients with a history of COVID-19. The technique used was documentary analysis and the instrument was the data sheet. Results were: history of Covid-19 with mild degree 46.2%, Covid-19 with moderate degree 49% and Covid-19 with severe degree 4.9%. Cardiac complications in patients with Covid-19 were arrhythmias 16.8%, heart failure 46%, thromboembolic disease 7.7%, myocarditis 15.4% and myocardial infarction -14%. According to age group, the highest percentage was 60 years or older 49.7%, with males predominating with 52.4%. According to place of origin, a higher percentage of patients from Iquitos was obtained 46.9%. Concluding that there is statistical significance between a history of COVID-19 and cardiac complications, with a higher percentage of heart failure associated with moderate Covid-19 infection in patients at the Loreto Regional Hospital 2021 2023.
