Departamento Académico de HorticulturaEl presente trabajo de investigación se condujo en el Fundo Don German, ubicado en el valle Cañete – Lima, con el objetivo de evaluar productos a base de aminoácidos y determinar si afectan el rendimiento y la calidad de la sandía. El factor en estudio fueron los productos a base de aminoácidos y las variables evaluadas fueron agrupadas dentro de rendimiento, calidad y materia seca del producto. El experimento se realizó bajo un diseño de bloques completos al azar, con 5 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones teniendo un total de 20 unidades experimentales para la investigación en estudio. Luego se procedió a realizar un análisis de varianza y se usó la prueba de comparación de medias de Duncan para los tratamientos. Las variables que se evaluaron fueron: rendimiento (t/ha), numero de frutos por hectárea (n°/ha), peso de frutos (kg), tamaño de fruto (cm), ancho de fruto (mm), grados brix (°), materia seca (%). Todos los tratamientos donde se aplicó aminoácidos foliarmente demostraron un incremento en el rendimiento comparado con el testigo. El tratamiento con el mayor rendimiento fue donde se empleó Ami-crop, con un rendimiento total de 23.15 t/ha; el tratamiento con Puncher obtuvo mayor número de frutos con un total de 3125 frutos/ha. Los parámetros de calidad de fruto y el % de materia seca con aminoácidos aplicados foliarmente por los tratamientos no fueron afectados significativamente.This research work was conducted at Fundo Don German, located in the Cañete valley- Lima to evaluate amino acids-based products in watermelon. Variables evaluated were yield, fruit quality (fruit weight average, fruit length and diameter, soluble solids and dry matter). A Randomized Complete Block Design was used, with 4 treatments and 4 repetitions, with a total of 16 experimental. Analysis of variance and duncan means comparison test were performed. All amino acids treatments were foliarly sprayed. The highest yield was observed with Ami-crop with a total yield of 23.15 t/ha; treatment with Puncher produced the highest fruit number with a total of 3125 fruits/ha.
