Ticlio, que pertenece a la Compañía Minera Volcan S.A.A.; ubicada en el departamento de Junín sobre los 4800 m s. n. m., y que se encuentra rodeada de muchas lagunas naturales y quebradas que podrían verse afectadas en el caso de no cumplir con los estándares de calidad ambiental y los límites máximos permisibles conforme a la normativa vigente. En el estudio descriptivo, la metodología se desarrolló a través de la técnica de observación y análisis documentario correspondiente al periodo 2017 – 2018. Para ello se realizó un diagnóstico inicial de la gestión ambiental de agua y efluentes para identificar las causas de los principales problemas en la gestión y proponer un plan de mejora para la gestión ambiental de agua y efluentes en la unidad. El resultado del diagnóstico inicial, evidencia que la (U.E.A.) Ticlio tuvo un cumplimiento legal del 63 %; y un desempeño de los riesgos críticos ambientales de agua y efluentes de 53 % de avance de implementación. Así mismo las principales causas de los problemas hallados, fueron que algunos de los componentes de la mina no se encontraban dentro de ningún instrumento ambiental o se encontraban en proceso, y que existen muchas limitaciones en el área operativa de asuntos ambientales. Por otro lado, las constantes fallas técnicas en las operaciones de interior mina; sumado al poco compromiso ambiental de la gerencia de operaciones de la mina contribuyeron a una gestión deficiente. Como parte de las mejoras, se propone reestructurar el área de asuntos ambientales, asignarle un presupuesto mayor para la operación y control de las plantas de tratamiento y optimizar de este modo los indicadores ambientales de la unidad. Para el periodo analizado se concluye que la (U.E.A.) Ticlio, se considera como una empresa infractora en el tema ambiental y que la gestión de agua y efluentes es deficiente. La mala estructuración y la falta de liderazgo en la organización del área de asuntos ambientales fueron las principales desviaciones encontradas. Finalmente, la propuesta elaborada ayudará a mejorar el desempeño de la gestión de agua y efluentes y al cumplimiento de la normativa ambiental vigente dentro de la unidad.The object of this study is the elaboration of a proposal for improvement for the environmental management of water and effluents in the Administrative Economic Unit (U.E.A.) Ticlio, which belongs to the Volcan Mining Company S.A.A.; located in the department of Junín over 4800 m a.s.l. n. m., and that it is surrounded by many natural lagoons and streams that could be affected in the event of not complying with environmental quality standards and the maximum permissible limits according to current regulations. In the descriptive study, the methodology was developed through the technique of observation and documentary analysis corresponding to the period 2017 - 2018. For this, an initial diagnosis of the environmental management of water and effluents was carried out to identify the causes of the main problems in management and propose an improvement plan for the environmental management of water and effluents in the unit. The result of the initial diagnosis shows that the (U.E.A.) Ticlio had a legal compliance of 63%; and a performance of the critical environmental risks of water and effluents of 53% implementation progress. Likewise, the main causes of the problems found were that some of the components of the mine were not included in any environmental instrument or were in process, and that there are many limitations in the operational area of environmental matters.
