En 1993, la Agencia Internacional de Investigación en Cáncer (IARC) catalogó al cadmio como un metal pre cancerígeno, por lo que existe una preocupación creciente por las formas de ingreso en alimentos. Por ello, se han reestablecido los límites máximos permisibles para diferentes productos alimenticios; así como los límites de ingesta semanal entre los que se encuentra el fruto de la palta, para el cual se estableció 0.05 mg kg-1 de fruta fresca, como el nivel máximo de cadmio (FAO, 2016). Con el objetivo de detectar zonas con alto nivel de cadmio en suelos y frutos se presentan herramientas desarrolladas por AGQ Labs que permiten facilitar la interpretación de los datos, manejar el elevado número de datos (grandes extensiones) y elaborar diagnósticos con el historial generado del predio; asimismo, conocer la metodología de análisis que se usa en la cuantificación de cadmio en suelo y fruto; así como mapas de cadmio y con equipo de espectrometría de masas de plasma acoplada inductivamente (ICP – MS). Los resultados muestran que en las zonas de análisis georreferenciado de los suelos de Ica se han encontrado niveles bajos, medios y altos de cadmio por debajo de 1.4 mg/kg según lo establecido por el ECA como medida que no representa riesgo significativo para la salud de las personas ni al ambiente; en estos casos al pasar el rango máximo permitido se considera suelos no aptos para la actividad agrícola. Los hallazgos y resultados servirán como referencia, y puesta en práctica a través de la información generada para evaluar zonas por bloques, identificar zonas problemas, definir y realizar estrategias de corrección por zonas.The present study will address the problem of cadmium concentration in avocado fruit. In 1993, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified cadmium as a pre-carcinogenic metal, which is why there is growing concern about the ways it enters food. For this reason, the maximum permissible limits for different food products have been reestablished; as well as the weekly intake limits among which is the avocado fruit, for which 0.05 mg kg-1 of fresh fruit was established as the maximum level of cadmium (FAO, 2016). Tools developed by AGQ Labs are presented with the objective of detecting areas with high levels of cadmium in soils and fruits, which facilitate the interpretation of the data, manage the high number of data (large extensions) and prepare diagnoses with the history generated of the property. Likewise, know the analysis methodology used in the quantification of cadmium in soil and fruit; as well as cadmium maps and with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP – MS) equipment. The results show that in the areas of georeferenced analysis of the soils of Ica, low, medium and high levels of cadmium have been found under 1.4 mg/kg as established by the ECA as a measure that does not represent a significant risk to the health of people or the environment, in these cases, when the maximum permitted range is exceeded, soils are considered unsuitable for agricultural activity.
