El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar si la violencia de pareja en las madres de niños de 6 a 59 meses se asocia a la doble carga de malnutrición en el binomio madre-niño en Perú, en el año 2022. Se llevó a cabo un estudio transversal analítico mediante un análisis secundario de datos de la Encuesta Demográfica y de Salud Familiar (ENDES) del año 2022. En base a un muestreo probabilístico multietápico con representatividad nacional. Se incluyeron 13 036 binomios madre-niño en el análisis. Se midió la violencia ejercida a la madre alguna vez por el esposo o pareja (VP), ya sea física o sexual, asimismo, se evaluó la doble carga de malnutrición (DCM) en el binomio madre- niño. También se evaluaron variables sociodemográficas y de salud y nutrición, tanto de la madre como del niño. Se realizaron análisis descriptivos y para la asociación de variables se empleó la prueba Chi2 de Poisson, así como modelos lineales generalizados (GLM) de la familia Poisson y la función log-link. La medida de asociación fue la razón de prevalencias (RP), con un nivel de confianza al 95%, y se consideró el ajuste por las covariables. No se encontró asociación entre la violencia de pareja (VP) ejercida a la madre alguna vez por el esposo o pareja, ya sea física o sexual con la DCM en el binomio madre-niño (cuando el niño tiene malnutrición por exceso y la madre por deficiencia, o el niño tiene una deficiencia nutricional y la madre exceso) (RPa=0,91 [IC 95%:0,82-1,01] p=0,076).The double burden of malnutrition is a global public health issue with significant economic and social losses. The objective of the study was to assess whether intimate partner violence against mothers of children aged 6 to 59 months is associated with the double burden of malnutrition in the mother-child dyad in Peru in 2022. An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted through a secondary data analysis of the 2022 Demographic and Family Health Survey (ENDES). A multi-stage probabilistic sampling method with national representativeness was used. A total of 13,036 mother-child dyads were included in the analysis. Violence against the mother by her husband or partner (IPV), whether physical or sexual, was measured, as well as the double burden of malnutrition (DBM) in the mother- child dyad. Sociodemographic, health, and nutrition variables of both the mother and child were also assessed. Descriptive analyses were performed, and for variable associations, the Chi-square test for Poisson was used, along with generalized linear models (GLM) from the Poisson family with a log-link function. The measure of association was the prevalence ratio (PR), with a 95% confidence level, adjusting for covariates.
