Departamento Académico de Ordenamiento Territorial y ConstrucciónEl presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo principal incorporar la metodología del análisis multicriterio por medio de un sistema de información geográfica como herramienta para la evaluación del riesgo ambiental, en el marco del ordenamiento territorial en el distrito de Chala, provincia de Caravelí, región Arequipa; que cuenta con una importante actividad minera, para lo cual se diseñó una investigación descriptiva de enfoque como principal herramienta a los Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG) con información disponible del ámbito geográfico del estudio. Por este motivo, se planteó como variable principal el riesgo ambiental para la salud; y como componentes, se definieron tanto factores relacionados a la contaminación derivada de la actividad minera local, como al desarrollo urbano presente en cada localidad evaluada. Los valores asociados a estos factores fueron procesados en un modelo de evaluación multicriterio que emplea la lógica difusa y el análisis jerárquico, el cual fue propuesto por De Pietri et al. (2011), dando como resultado el riesgo para la salud en cada punto del área de estudio, mediante el cual se pudo calcular la aptitud para residir, dada la correlación entre estas dos variables. Mediante el software QGIS, se pudo proponer un mapa de áreas aptas para residir en el distrito de Chala. Los resultados muestran que la condición «baja aptitud para residir» está en 60 % del área de estudio, lo que corresponde a «Chala Norte» y «La Aguadita». Estas zonas tienen una cantidad de población importante; sobre todo, en las zonas bajas, mientras que la zona de «Chala Sur» muestra en casi todo su territorio la condición de alta aptitud para residir. Como conclusión principal se estableció que la aplicación del método de evaluación multicriterio aplicado en este estudio se valida como una herramienta efectiva y de empleo inicial en la evaluación ambiental para zonas urbanas de territorios y/o regiones que presenten actividad minera.The main objective of this research work was to incorporate the methodology of multicriteria analysis through a geographic information system as a tool for evaluating environmental risk, within the framework of land use planning in the district of Chala, province of Caravelí, region Arequipa ; which has an important mining activity, for which a descriptive research approach was designed as the main tool for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with available information from the geographical scope of the study. The main variable was the environmental risk for health; and as components, both factors related to the contamination derived from the local mining activity, as well as the urban development present in each evaluated locality were defined. The values associated with these factors were processed in a multi-criteria evaluation model that uses fuzzy logic and hierarchical analysis, which was proposed by De Pietri et al. (2011), resulting in the health risk at each point in the study area, through which the ability to reside could be calculated, given the inverse relationship between these two variables. Using the QGIS software, it was possible to propose a map of suitable areas to reside in the district of Chala. The results show that the condition «low aptitude to reside» is in 60 % of the study area, which corresponds to «Chala Norte» and «La Aguadita». These areas have a significant amount of population; above all, in the low-lying areas, while the «Chala Sur» area shows in almost all its territory the condition of high aptitude to reside.
