Departamento Académico de SuelosEste trabajo monográfico analiza el proceso de registro de plaguicidas químicos de uso agrícola en el Perú, destacando los problemas que surgen durante todo el proceso y afectan tanto a los profesionales encargados como a los actores del sistema regulatorio. Se identifican deficiencias en la coordinación entre las autoridades evaluadoras, limitaciones de personal y capacidad tecnológica de los laboratorios, así como la falta de trabajo conjunto de los diferentes actores del sistema. Se destaca la importancia de la formación académica en Agronomía para lograr los objetivos en el registro de plaguicidas. Se mencionan las regulaciones rigurosas a nivel mundial y se señala que el proceso de registro puede llevar hasta 11.3 años y costar alrededor de US$ 286 millones. A pesar de los esfuerzos por contar con un sistema de registro eficiente, se presentan dificultades que limitan y retrasan los procedimientos. Este trabajo monográfico describe algunos problemas críticos observados en el marco regulatorio peruano, así como estrategias para resolverlos y sugerencias para mejorar el proceso.This monographic work analyzes the registration process of chemical pesticides for agricultural use in Peru, highlighting the problems that arise throughout the process and affect both the professionals in charge and the actors of the regulatory system. Deficiencies are identified in the coordination between the evaluating authorities, limitations of personnel and technological capacity of the laboratories, as well as the lack of joint work of the different actors of the system. The importance of academic training in agronomy to achieve the objectives in the registration of pesticides is highlighted. The rigorous global regulations are mentioned and it is pointed out that the registration process can take up to 11.3 years and cost around US$ 286 million. Despite efforts to have an efficient registration system, there are difficulties that limit and delay the procedures.
