Maestría en Gestión Integral de Cuencas HidrográficasEn la presente investigación se analizó los cambios hidrológicos considerando los posibles cambios en la precipitación y los proyectos de regulación desarrollados en la cuenca del río Vilcanota para mejorar el suministro de agua, fuente principal de la región Cusco. Para lograr este objetivo, se recopiló información hidrológica diaria de la estación hidrométrica km-105 e información de precipitación mensual de 19 estaciones (trece localizadas en la cuenca del río Vilcanota y las restantes en zonas adyacentes). La información de caudal y precipitación se sometió a un análisis de tendencias (test de Mann-Kendall, Regresión lineal y Spearman Rho) y quiebres (test Cusum). Posteriormente, se aplicaron los métodos del Ecoflujo e Indicadores de Alteración Hidrológica (IAH) para la caracterización y cuantificación del cambio hidrológico en la cuenca, considerando para el análisis, un período natural (1965-1987) y un período alterado (1988-2016). Los resultados muestran variaciones en la estacionalidad del flujo del período alterado en relación con el período natural. La evaluación del ecoflujo muestra un incremento de los caudales (ecosuperávits) durante la temporada seca (trimestres JJA, SON) y una reducción durante la temporada de húmeda en el periodo alterado en comparación con el periodo natural, la que no guarda relación (comportamiento opuesto) con la precipitación estacional. Resultados similares se obtuvieron con los IAH, lo que se atribuye a la regulación en la cuenca durante ese período. La comparación entre métodos (IAH y ecoflujo) permitió identificar los cambios en el régimen de los caudales del río Vilcanota y afirmar que los mismos son complementarios.In the present investigation hydrological changes were assessed considering possible changes in precipitation and regulation projects developed in the basin to improve the water supply of the Vilcanota River, which is the main source of water of Cusco region. To achieve this objective, daily hydrologic information of the km-105 station and monthly rainfall information related to 19 stations were collected. Trend (Mann-Kendall, Linear regression and Spearman Rho test) and distribution (Cusum test) analysis of flow and precipitation series were assessed. Subsequently, the Ecoflow and Indicators of Hydrologic Alteration (IAH) methods were applied for the characterization and quantification of the hydrological change in the basin, considering for the analysis, a natural period (1965-1987) and an altered period (1988-2016). The results show variations in the flow seasonality of the altered period in relation to the natural period. The Ecoflow assessment shows an increase in flows (eco-surplus) during the dry season (JJA, SON) and a decrease in flows during the rainy season in the altered period in contrast to the natural period, with a behavior opposite to precipitation. Similar result was obtained by IHA method, attributed to the regulation in the basin during that period.
