Maestría en NutriciónEl objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar la tasa de crecimiento (TC) de una pastura asociada y su relación con la temperatura (Te) y humedad del suelo (Hd), la disponibilidadforrajera y proponer tres planes de alimentación: perfil alimentario, presupuesto y plan de pastoreo óptimos para un hato de toretes en engorde. El área experimental tenía 25 has de una asociación de Dactylis glomerata, 54.7 por ciento; Trifolium repenns, 30.6 por ciento; Trifolium pratense, 8.0 por ciento; Lolium perenne, 3.0 por ciento; Lolium multiflorum, 0.6 por ciento; y nativas, 3.1 por ciento. Para tal efecto se utilizaron termómetros, vasos plásticos, jaulas de crecimiento de forraje y un cuadrante de corte de forraje. Las temperaturas y humedades del suelo fueron analizadas bajo un Diseño Completo al Azar con Arreglo Factorial 12 x 2, y para las tasas de crecimiento y disponibilidad de forraje un Diseño Completamente Randomizado, las diferencias de madias fueron detectadas con la prueba de DLS a un α = 0.05; para el análisis de regresión entre TC, Te y Hd se usaron tres modelos de Regresión Lineal (L1, L2, y L3) y dos Polinomial (P1 y P2). Los mayores niveles de temperatura y humedad se registraron en los meses de verano (periodo lluvioso), ocurriendo lo mismo con la tasa de crecimiento y disponibilidad de forraje. La temperatura (11.2°C) siempre se mantuvo por encima del mínimo (10°C) y la humedad (27.9 por ciento) no registró niveles cercanos a la capacidad de campo (60 por ciento). La tasa de crecimiento de forraje osciló entre 6.9 en julio y 43.7 kg MS/ha/día en febrero correspondiendo los valores más altos a los meses de lluvia. El mejor modelo para la predicción de TC resultó el L3 donde: TC= −14.91 + 1.41Hd con un r2 = 0.189. La disponibilidad de pasto osciló entre 1301 en julio y 3048 kg MS/ha en mayo, mostrando un crecimiento no uniforme. El perfil alimentario revelo una época de excedente de forraje en el periodo lluvioso y otra de déficit en el periodo seco y planteó cargas potenciales para tres periodos de engorde por año, noviembre-febrero, marzo-junio y julio-octubre a razón de 3.14, 2.44 y 1.60 toretes/ha respectivamente. Se concluye que la limitante que afecta el incremento de peso de los toretes y su producción por ha es la baja energía del pasto causada por la aplicación de una baja carga de toretes en el periodo lluvioso que origina la acumulación de material senescente e inhibe la tasa de crecimiento del forraje.The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth rate (TC) of an associated pasture and its relationship with temperature (Te) and soil humidity (Hd), forage availability and propose three feeding plans: food profile, budget and Optimal grazing plan for a herd of fattening bulls.
