Escuela de Posgrado. Maestría en Producción AnimalEl presente estudio ha sido elaborado en establos de la cuenca lechera de Lima, que tiene un clima templado marítimo. Los datos corresponden al Servicio Oficial de Productividad Lechera (SOPL) del Programa de Mejoramiento Animal de la Facultad de Zootecnia comprendidos entre los años 1990 y 2000. El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar las características de productividad de vacas lecheras en la cuenca de Lima. El trabajo fue desarrollado en dos etapas: la formación de la base de datos con la información del SOPL correspondientes a vacas Holstein con lactaciones reales y completas; y la revisión y complementación de la información en los mismos establos, obtenida de tarjetas individuales de vacas. La muestra total, correspondiente a 48 establos en los 11 años de evaluación, fue de 49,125 lactaciones. Se usó la estadística descriptiva para obtener promedios y errores estándar, para el análisis estadístico se trabajó con un diseño completamente al azar para explicar el nivel de significancia de los efectos del año de parto y del número de parto; asimismo, la prueba de Tuckey para explicar las diferencias entre los números de parto y entre los años de lactación. Los resultados promedio obtenidos en los once años que comprendió el estudio, para las características productivas fueron: lactación por campaña 7,053 Kg de leche con una duración promedio de 334 días, lactación en 305 días 7,166 Kg de leche, lactaciones por vaca 2.18 y producción acumulada de 15,372 Kg de leche en 729 días como promedio. Y para las características reproductivas fueron: edad al primer parto de 28 meses, edad a la máxima producción de 72 meses, edad promedio de 50 meses, periodo de seca de 82.25 días e intervalo entre partos de 14.26 meses. Los efectos del año de parto y el número de parto mostraron una diferencia altamente significativa (P < 0.01) para todas las características productivas y reproductivas evaluadas. Por los resultados obtenidos se concluye que los niveles de productividad lechera en la cuenca de Lima se han incrementado a través de los once años del estudio de 1990 hasta el 2000, lo que reflejaría la buena labor de las prácticas de manejo, principalmente alimentación y reproducción realizada por los ganaderos y que contribuye con la viabilidad de la ganadería lechera.This study has been developed in stables in the dairy valley of Lima, which has a temperate climate. The data corresponds to the Official Milk Productivity Service (SOPL) of the Animal Improvement Program of the Faculty of Zootechnics between the years 1990 and 2000. The objective of the study was to evaluate the productivity characteristics of dairy cows at Lima. The study was developed in two stages: the creation of the database with the SOPL information corresponding to Holstein cows with real and complete lactations; and the revision and complementation of the information in the same stables, obtained from individual cow cards. The total sample, corresponding to 48 farms in the 11 years of evaluation, was 49,126 lactations. Descriptive statistics were used to obtain averages and standard errors. For the statistical analysis, a completely randomized design was used to explain the level of significance of the effects of the year of calving and the number of calving; likewise, the Tuckey test to explain the differences between the calving numbers and between the years of lactation. The average results obtained in the eleven years that the study comprised, for the productive characteristics were: lactation per campaign 7,053 Kg of milk with an average duration of 334 days, lactation in 305 days 7,166 Kg of milk, lactations per cow 2.18 and cumulative production of 15,372 kg of milk in 729 days on average.
