The screening and study were carried out by two researchers, based on the PRISMA 2020 methodology. Results: 110 records were screened, eliminating duplicate records, 96 publications were obtained (first phase) in a second phase 21 investigations remained, from there the articles were filtered, leaving 16 investigations for analysis, 2 referred to depression, 7 to anxiety, depression and stress and 7 developed the variable anxiety and effects of COVID-19. The meta-analysis showed 3 articles mentioning the 3 descriptors stress, depression and anxiety as an effect of COVID - 19, 5 articles mention two descriptors depression and anxiety in addition to anguish causing insomnia, 2 articles mention two descriptors stress and depression. Conclusions: Seven out of ten general practitioners evaluated presented symptoms of anxiety or work stress. A third of the population exposed to COVID-19 suffer from emotional disorders of anxiety, depression, stress in addition to post-traumatic stress and increased acute stress, frustration, loneliness, substance abuse, fear and insomnia. States need to activate mental health programs in response to and recovery from COVID-19.Objetivos: Realizar una revisión sistemática y metaanálisis acerca de la ansiedad, estrés y depresión como efectos de la COVID-19. Materiales y métodos: Revisión sistemática y metaanálisis de estudios publicados entre enero (2020) hasta febrero (2022) en las bases de datos PubMed, Web of Science, LILACS y SciELO. El tamizaje y estudio fue realizado por dos investigadores, basada en la metodología de PRISMA 2020. Resultados: Se tamizaron 110 registros, eliminando los registros duplicados se llegó a obtener 96 publicaciones (primera fase), en una segunda fase quedaron 21 investigaciones de ahí se filtró los artículos quedando para el análisis 16 investigaciones, 2 se referían a la depresión, 7 a la ansiedad, depresión y estrés y 7 desarrollaron la variable ansiedad y efectos de la COVID-19. El meta análisis mostró 3 artículos que nos mencionan los 3 descriptores estrés, depresión y ansiedad como efecto de la COVID – 19, 5 artículos mencionan dos descriptores depresión y ansiedad además de la angustia produciendo insomnio, 2 artículos mencionan dos descriptores estrés y depresión. Conclusiones: Siete de cada diez médicos generales valorados presentaron síntomas de ansiedad o estrés laboral. Un tercio de la población expuesta a la COVID-19 sufren de trastornos emocionales de ansiedad, depresión, estrés además de estrés postraumático y aumento del estrés agudo, frustración, soledad, abuso de sustancias, miedo e insomnio.
