description Objetivo: identificar el nivel de autocuidado en pacientes adultos mayores con DM tipo 2, atendidos en CC.EE. del C.S. Caquetá, Rimac-2024. La muestra se conformó por 67 pacientes. el instrumento fue un cuestionario tipo escala de Likert conformado por 3 dimensiones, válido y confiable. Resultados: la edad promedio de los pacientes fue de 45,2%. En cuanto al sexo, el 58,2%(n=39) fueron masculino y el 47,8%(n=28) femenino. En cuanto al estado civil, el 52,2%(n=35) fueron convivientes, 29,8%(n=20) casados, 18%(n=12) solteros. En cuanto al tiempo de enfermedad, el 49,2%(n=33) tuvieron entre 2 a 4 años. el autocuidado de los pacientes fue medio en el 38,8%(n=26), alto en el 20,9%(n=14), bajo 17,9%(n=12), muy bajo 11,9%(n=8) y muy alto 10,5%(n=7). En la dimensión biológica, el 34,3%(n=23) el autocuidado fue medio, el 25,4%(n=17) alto, 14,9%(n=10) muy alto, 13,4%(n=9) bajo y 11,9%(n=8) muy bajo. En la dimensión psicológica el 41,8%(n=28) fue medio, el 17,9%(n=12) fue bajo, el 13,4%(n=9) muy alto y el 9%(n=6) muy bajo. En la dimensión social, el 37,3%(n=25) fue medio, 20,9%(n=14) alto, 17,9%(n=12) muy alto, 16,4%(n=11) bajo y 7,5%(n=5) muy bajo. Conclusiones: el nivel de autocuidado en pacientes adultos mayores con DM tipo 2, atendidos en CC.EE. del C.S. Caquetá, Rimac-2024, fue en su mayoría medio.

The instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire made up of 3 dimensions, valid and reliable. Results: the average age of the patients was 45.2%. Regarding sex, 58.2% (n=39) were male and 47.8% (n=28) were female. Regarding marital status, 52.2% (n=35) were cohabiting, 29.8% (n=20) married, 18% (n=12) single. Regarding the duration of illness, 49.2% (n=33) had between 2 to 4 years. The patients' self care was medium in 38.8% (n=26), high in 20.9% (n=14), low in 17.9% (n=12), very low in 11.9% (n=12). n=8) and very high 10.5% (n=7). In the biological dimension, 34.3% (n=23) self-care was medium, 25.4% (n=17) high, 14.9% (n=10) very high, 13.4% (n =9) low and 11.9%(n=8) very low.
