description Objetivo: identificar el nivel de conocimientos sobre los estilos de vida saludables en pacientes adultos mayores diagnosticados con diabetes mellitus tipo 2, atendidos en un establecimiento de salud de Lima, durante el año 2024. Materiales y métodos: el trabajo de investigacion tubo un enfoque cuantitativo La población y muestra estuvo compuesta por 43 adultos mayores. La técnica utilizada fue la encuesta, y el instrumento empleado fue el Cuestionario IMEVID que consta de 26 ítems distribuidos en 2 dimensiones. Resultados: los estudios indican que en cuanto a conocimiento de estilo de vida saludable, el 25.6% de los adultos mayores diagnosticados con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 se clasifican como bajo en conocimiento, mientras que e 55.8% se clasifican como medio y el 18.6% como alto. En lo que respecta a conocimiento sobre estilos de vida no saludable, el 30.2% tiene un nivel bajo, el 53.5% tiene un nivel medio y el 16.3% tiene un nive alto de conocimiento Respecto a los estilos de vida, se observa que el 51.2% muestra buenos hábitos alimenticios a veces Además, e 65.1% nunca realiza actividades físicas, el 48.8% nunca mantiene un buen estado emocional y el 46.5% a veces tiene una buena adherencia al tratamiento de la diabetes Conclusión: se identificó que en su mayoría, los pacientes adultos mayores tienen un nivel medio de conocimientos sobre los estilos de vida saludables.

The technique used was the survey, and the instrument used was the IMEVID Questionnaire, which consists of 26 items distributed in 2 dimensions. Results: studies indicate that in terms of healthy lifestyle knowledge, 25.6% of older adults diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus are classified as low in knowledge, while 55.8% are classified as medium and 18.6% as high. Regarding knowledge about unhealthy lifestyles, 30.2% have a low level, 53.5% have a medium level and 16.3% have a high level of knowledge. Regarding lifestyles, it is observed that 51.2% show good eating habits at times.
