Today’s society is constantly changing and along with it the demands on educational organisations, which are led by the managers of educational organisations, thus taking their role of great importance in everyday life. The aim of the study is to analyse the characteristics of educational leadership in the knowledge society. For this purpose, a systematised review is carried out in which popular science articles related to the aforementioned topic are analysed. The result of the study is that leadership represents one of the most important variables related to the effectiveness of educational organisations and the acquisition of learning. It also shows that society demands that organisations provide more and more space for growth and development for all their members. It is concluded that educational organisations must seek to adapt to the changes and demands imposed by society in order to provide an efficient and quality service.
