Los resultados mostraron que el aceite de Syzygium aromaticum al 100% sobre Staphylococcus aureus, obtuvo halo de inhibición promedio de 25,87 mm y para el 50% fue de 19,93 mm, la formulación alcohol gel de Syzygium aromaticum al 15% obtuvo halo de inhibición de 12,91 mm y la formulación al 25% fue de 16,14 mm. Se concluye que el alcohol en gel elaborado a base del aceite esencial de Syzygium aromaticum (Clavo de olor) presento actividad antibacteriana frente a Staphylococcus aureusThe objective of the study was to demonstrate the antibacterial activity of alcohol gel based on essential oil of Syzygium aromaticum (clove) against Staphylococcus aureus. The essential oil was obtained by the vapor entrainment method, and the antibacterial activity of the oil and alcohol gel was determined by means of the disk diffusion technique. The results showed that the oil of Syzygium aromaticum at 100% on Staphylococcus aureus, obtained an average inhibition halo of 25.87 mm and for 50% it was 19.93 mm, the alcohol gel formulation of Syzygium aromaticum at 15% obtained an inhibition halo of 12.91 mm and the formulation at 25% was 16.14 mm.
