description En esta investigación se dio a conocer la gestión turística municipal que se da en el distrito del Callao hoy en día. La elaboración de la tesis se inició en Agosto y se finalizó en Julio del presente año, las teorías que se asumieron fueron las de administración y gestión municipal, usando un método cualitativo, con un diseño fenomenológico, en el que se buscó conocer las experiencias vividas de la población a través de su comportamiento con respecto a la gestión turística municipal en el distrito del Callao. La población de estudio estuvo constituida por pobladores y empresas involucradas en el sector turístico, de los distritos de la Punta, Chucuito y Callao. El instrumento que se utilizo fue la entrevista. Llegando a la conclusión que en el distrito del Callao no existe una gestión turística municipal, identificando ciertos factores que generan como la falta de participación ciudadana, la falta comunicación entre la municipalidad, los pobladores, y las empresas turísticas, la falta de importancia de la municipalidad para el desarrollo de nuevos proyectos que ayuden a mejorar el turismo en el distrito.
