description El presente trabajo de investigación tiene por objetivo principal determinar si existe relación entre el bienestar social y el desempeño del servicio militar del personal de tropa en el cuartel del Pedregal – Arequipa 2016. En cuanto a la metodología es de tipo no experimental de diseño correlacional de corte transversal, la población de estudio está formado por 110 soldados de las unidades del ejército del cuartel el Pedregal, se aplica como instrumento dos cuestionarios para medir ambas variables el mismo que fue validado por tres expertos. Los resultados evidencian que el 60.9% tiene un regular bienestar social durante su servicio militar y un 60.0% tiene un desempeño regular cuando realiza su servicio militar. La investigación concluye que existe una relación positiva directa entre el bienestar social y el desempeño de servicio militar del personal de tropa en el cuartel del Pedregal – Arequipa 2016. Por lo que se acepta la hipótesis de investigación.
