description Esta investigación tuvo objetivo principal determinar la relación que existe entre la gestión ambiental y el tratamiento de residuos sólidos en el mercado central de Chota, 2022. Investigación es de tipo básica con enfoque cuantitativo con un diseño no experimental correlacional. Se contó con la colaboración de 169 dueños de los establecimientos del mercado central de Chota, se usó la encuesta y como instrumento el cuestionario constituido por 40 ítems, validado por el juicio de personas expertas y la confiabilidad a través del alfa de Cronbach. El resultado de la prueba de hipótesis se obtuvo mediante el valor de la prueba de correlación rho Spearman rh0 = 0,911, donde se estableció un nivel alto de fiabilidad. Dichos datos obtenidos involucran un conjunto de análisis de las variables, dimensiones e indicadores que muestran la relación que existente. En seguida se efectuó el análisis, la interpretación y la discusión de los resultados, en la que se llegó a la conclusión que es necesario mejorar la gestión ambiental y el tratamiento de residuos sólidos del mercado central de Chota.
