description La investigación tuvo como objetivo implementar un Plan de Mantenimiento Preventivo para mejorar la operatividad de la maquinaria pesada (volquetes) de la empresa BAZHER S.R.L.; considerando que no cuenta con una planificación, ordenamiento de las actividades para el mantenimiento de la maquinaria pesada y que genera un inconveniente en relación a factor tiempo, cumplimiento con obligaciones y compromisos, causa desbalance en el presupuesto de la empresa, por lo cual urge implementar un Plan de Mantenimiento Preventivo para maquinaria pesada, específicamente a una flota de volquetes. Se usó una investigación de método observacional, de tipo aplicada y diseño no experimental – transversal descriptivo, se aplicó los instrumentos de investigación: entrevistas y encuestas al personal del Área de Mecánica de la Empresa y a su Gerente General que permita evaluar y describir la situación del plan de mantenimiento que realizan, elaborar un sistema de mantenimiento preventivo y elaborar las fichas técnicas para el control del mantenimiento de la flota de volquetes de la empresa. Al aplicar un Plan de Mantenimiento Preventivo se obtuvo como resultado que el nivel d disponibilidad es del 99,34%, el tiempo entre fallas es cada 240 horas de funcionamiento y que el costo anual es de S/. 53 459,48, teniendo un ahorro del 26% anual en la facturación. Se recomienda realizar un programa de capacitación permanente para lograr contar con un personal calificado que pueda ejecutar el Plan de Mantenimiento Preventivo.
