Se usó una muestra de 70 pobladores del distrito, aplicando una encuesta la cual tiene como instrumento un cuestionario para cada una de las variables teniendo un total de 19 ítems respectivamente, el cual ha sido validado por 3 expertos tanto en la carrera como en el tema y el resultado posterior a su aplicación fue que si existe una relación positiva entre la identidad cultural y el desarrollo turístico, obteniendo así mismo un coeficiente de correlación de Rho Spearman positivo medio, por lo cual finalizamos comentando que es importante el mantener y preservar la identidad cultural, ya que esta es la pieza clave para el desarrollo turístico del distrito de Catacaos, ello conllevará al crecimiento y mejora de la calidad de vida de muchos pobladores que encontraron una alternativa laboral en esta actividad económica como lo es el turismo.
